As the weather gets chilly I begin to crave warm comfort foods! This is one of my favorite fall desserts. Plus with this cleaned up recipe you can enjoy a bowl without the guilt!
Mix together 3 medium baking apples (I used MacIntosh), 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 1/4 tsp allspice. Layer in the bottom of a baking pan. I sprayed my baking pan with coconut oil to help keep the apple from sticking.
In the same bowl melt 2 tablespoon coconut oil. Then mix in 1 cup rolled oats, 1/2 cup almond flour, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1/8 tsp allspice, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 cup maple syrup, and 1/2 cup walnuts (optional.) Layer this on top of the apple layer.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until granola layer is golden.
